Dear Prayer Warriors,
Monica, Isaac, Roger and Kristen (Roger’s girlfriend) arrived in Brazil this week, I (Jeff) was very happy! We have many opportunities to serve the Lord in the next few months here in Brazil and we are looking forward to go to Mozambique!

On May 2, 2013 the Mozambican Government changed many of their regulations for visas to Mozambique. For this reason we had to change the dates we are going to Mozambique, so we would have time to get all the documentation needed and get the visa. Today we sent the visa form and all documentation requested to the Mozambican Embassy in Brasilia it takes now 14 business days for us to receive the visa back this because we are paying extra to expedite the visa, or it would take 19 business days.
For these reasons we have schedule to leave Brazil to Mozambique on Monday June 24 and come back on July 6. However, this has cause the cost of the trip to go up, we had to pay a forwarding agent to get the visa in Brasilia, because the Mozambican Government wants you personally at the Embassy or you pay a forwarding agent, it would cost a lot more for Monica and I to go to Brasilia, also the tickets are more expensive during the high season. Therefore the cost now for trip is:
USD$1.690 BR/MOZ/BR Airfare
USD$    270 Visa cost to Mozambique
USD$   220 Lodging and Food in MOZ
USD$2.180 Total X 2 = USD$4.360 (USD$560 extra) God is our provider!
Please, pray that we will receive the visas to Mozambique (May 30 and June 1 are holidays in Brazil) on time without any problem, for God’s honor and glory!
If you would like, you can reach us in Brazil through our e-mails addresses (rlm_fifes@hotmail.com or fife@BROLM.org) our mobile phone is 55-11-99511-2436 and our home phone is 55-11-4039-1484.
Thanks for your prayers!
God is good, all the time; and He is acting among us!

Jeff & Monica Fife

Hallelujah!
Our God hears and answers our prayers!
We received a message last night that one of our supporting churches is covering the USD$1.160 that was needed for the Mozambique Mission Trip. God is good!
Now we still need school supplies!
For us to bring the text books “Hands ON” Bible College to Mozambique we will need the government’s permission, however there is a possibilities of us taking a laser printer to print the material over there. We have to make this decision in the next days and we are waiting a position form Kleber and Juracema to see what it is better.
Monica and I will be applying for our visas, please, pray that it will be granted without any problems!
Thanks for your prayers and, please, continue to pray for us!

4/29/2013

God is great!
We received an email today from one of the church that supporters us saying that they are sending USD $1.000 for the Mozambique Mission Trip.
We need USD $3.800 to cover the trip expenses, as of today we have received USD $2.640, and thus we still need USD $1.160 to reach this goal. Now our glass is almost full!
Please, continue to pray! We still need school supplies and the permission from the Mozambican government to take the text books for the “Hands-On” Bible College!
Thanks for your prayers for us!

APRIL 2013

Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 2 Timothy 4:2NKJV

Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,

Greetings from your coworkers to the Portuguese-Speaking World!

Monica’s Health
On April 1st, we celebrated 5 years from when the tumor was removed from Monica’s brain. She still needs to deal with some limitations; however our hearts are full of gratitude for her healing process.

In the end of September, 2012, Monica was very sick with a terrible infection; after she went through surgery on October 5th the surgeon thought Monica would need at least 3 more surgeries. However on April 8th, the surgeon concluded that Monica will NOT need any more surgeries. God is good! We are so thankful for your prayers and support. Please, continue to pray for Monica’s complete healing!

2013 Mozambique Short Term Mission Trip
In March we shared our plans for the Short Term Mission Trip to Mozambique.

We need your help in purchasing some school supplies (colored pencils, crayons, water base paint, etc.) so Monica can use to teach; for more details get in touch with Monica at 423-433-8537 or at fife@brolm.org.

I (Jeff) will be instituting the “Hands On” Bible College; church leaders from the villages will come to Nampula for a week of teaching. I will be taking the material that we use at the “Hands On” in Brazil.
We have decided that we are not taking Isaac with us this time to Mozambique; God willing we will have the opportunity to take Isaac in the future.
Our plans are to leave Brazil on Jun 10th and go back to Brazil on Jun 22nd.
We need your help to make this mission trip possible. The cost for this mission trip for each is:
USD$1.600 BR/MOZ/BR Airfare

USD$   220 Lodging and Food in MOZ
USD$1.900 Total X 2 = USD$3.800

MINISTRY HIGHLIGHTS IN MARCH

BRoLM Annual Board Meeting
In March BRoLM (Brazil River of Life Ministries) had its annual board meeting. For personal reasons, Brother Ben Lutz who had served as chairman since 2001, resigned. With Nancy Knowles' death last year, BRoLM needed two new board members. We were very blessed to have Ben and Nancy on the board, they've always been a blessing. Thus the board voted to receive Tim Shields and LeAnne Blackmore as new board members. We are so thankful that Jim Knowles, who has served as secretary, will continue to serve as board member.
Tim Shields was raised as an MK (Missionary Kid) in Brazil; his parents were contemporary missionaries with my parents in Goiania. At the present he serves as a chaplain; he was voted the new chairman for BRoLM.
LeAnne Blackmore is an author, speaker, wife and mother. God has given her the opportunity to develop a strong women's ministry. She was voted the new BRoLM secretary.
Another change is that Elena Coelho, who has served as BRoLM treasurer since 1998, because of her health had to resign. Please, pray for Elena, she has multiple sclerosis. Thus the board voted Roger Fife to become the treasurer and work with BRoLM CPA Jim Cline in keeping the financial records. We are thankful for Elena’s faithful service through so many years.
Please, pray for BRoLM board; may the Lord give them wisdom to lead the ministry in God’s will for His honor and glory.

Couples Outreach at Jundiai
The Jundiai Church promo-ted a Couples Outreach in March; many couples accep-ted the invitation and the outré-ach was a great blessing.

Children’s Outreach at Campo Limpo Paulista
Every 3 months the Campo Limpo Paulista Church will be promoting a Children’s Outreach. They had their first one this year in March.

Murillo’s Baptism
Ruben (Minister at Jundiai Chur-ch) is a Math teacher at a High School in Jundiai; through the last year he has been wor-king in leading a colleague to the Lord. In March Ruben had the privilege of baptizing Murillo.

Couples Outreach at Campo Limpo Paulista
The Campo Limpo Paulista Church also promoted a Couples Outre-ach in March. Brother Jose Simonette (orda-ined in January) and his wife Ana are doing a great job.

Jundiai Church Third Anniversary
Three years ago the Jundiai Church had its first service at a restaurant in Jundiai; after a few months they were able to find a small place to rent. However God has given them growth and this year they rented a larger location. We are so happy that the Jundiai Church is doing so well; God has blessed them very much.

Dinner Outreach at Sao Mateus
The Sao Mateus Church promoted a Dinner Outreach to celebrate Jesus' Resurrec-tion. People came to eat dinner and had the privilege to hear about Jesus' death, burial and resurrection.

Resurrection Celebration
Since 2005 on Easter BRoLM promotes a celebration for all the BRoLM churches in the Greater Sao Paulo area. The churches spent the day together; they had a great service with baptism and Communion after lunch (Brazilian barbecue) and lots of fun time.

God is doing great things through BRoLM and your prayers and support are vital! Please, continue to pray so the Lord will use BRoLM more and more for His honor and glory!
Thanks!

God is good, all the time; and He is acting among us!
In HIS Love and Service,

Jeff & Monica Fife

Summer 2013

Monica has received per-mission from the doctors to travel, so we are getting ready for a mission trip to Mozambique. The last time I (Jeff) went to Mozambique was Feb 2009; on that trip Roger and John Leech accompanied me. This time, if God allows by providing the resources, Monica and Isaac will be coming with me.

Our plans are to leave Brazil on Jun 11th and go back to Brazil on Jun 22nd.

Monica will use art to teach the Bible to the children at the Hope School. She will teach morning and afternoon classes from 1st to 8th grade; the school has over 1000 students.

We need donations of school supplies (colored pencils, crayons, water base paint, etc.). You can purchase these materials and send to us before May 1st, or you can send a gift and Monica will purchase the material (More details call Monica 423-433-8537).

Monica will also encourage Juracema (Brazilian missionary), and she will work with the women's ministry in Nampula.

I (Jeff) will be instituting the “Hands On” Bible College, for the church leaders. Leaders from the 72 village churches will come together at the Hope Mission leadership center and I will be teaching.

Isaac will use soccer and other sports to witness to the school students.

We need your help to make this mission trip possible, Kleber and Juracema are expecting us.

The cost for this mission trip for each is:
USD$1.600 BR/MOZ/BR Airfare
USD$     80 Visa cost to Mozambique
USD$   220 Lodging and Food in MOZ
USD$1.900 Total X 3 = USD$5.700 (Jeff, Monica and Isaac)

Please, continue to pray for this monthly outreach at Varzea Paulista; we plan to plant a church in this location in the near future and God has given the strategy to reach the people at this location for Christ through children's outreach.

 Youth Outreach

With the participation of the youth groups from the churches of Bom Retiro, Campinas, Campo Limpo Paulista and Sao Mateus, the Pirituba church promoted this youth outreach.

Sao Mateus and Campinas Churches promoted a youth camp during the last weekend of the month.

 Mozambique

By faith, Kleber and Juracema have started to build a home at the Hope Mission for them to live in, and receive visitors that come to help the ministry. God willing, if the house is ready, we will stay with them in the new home.

Short Term Mission Trip

We are open to receive individuals, groups, teams that would like to come and help us in Brazil during the summer (May through August). We can take a group of up to 10 persons for up to 10 days at a time.

FEBRUARY 2013
(To enlarge the pictures click on them)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Ephesians 1:3

Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,

Greetings from your coworkers to the Portuguese-Speaking World!

BRoLM Theme for 2013. The BRoLM (Brazil River of Life Ministries) Churches and many other Churches throughout the Portuguese-Speaking World theme for this year is “2013, The Year of the Spiritual Blessings”. Jeff is writing a study guide for the whole book of Ephesians base on this theme so the ministers in each location can share the studies with their congregations. For the first chapter of Ephesians Jeff wrote 18 sermons, 12 of them were preached at the 12 Days of Purpose, and the others are being preached on Sundays at each congregation.

Brazil Jan 13. Jeff arrived in Brazil on January 9th and he started preaching at the 12 Days of Purpose at Pirituba Church on that same day. During the time that he was in Brazil he had the opportunity to minister at 19 services, visit the Bom Retiro, Campo Limpo Pta, Jundiai, Pirituba and Sao Mateus Churches. He led two voting church meetings; one at Campo Limpo Pta Church and one at Pirituba Church. He met with the elders from each church and with the ministers separately. He ordained Jose Simonette to be the Minister at Campo Limpo Pta Church, baptized 4 into Christ, and visited many Brothers and Sisters in their homes and drove 1875 miles all in 20 days.

Pirituba Church. The Pirituba Church voted for Jeff to continue to preach every Sunday through Webex. We are seeing some signs of restoration and some growth since Jeff became the preaching minister at Pirituba in May 2012.

Anniversary/Baptism/Ordination. On Jan 26, the Campo Limpo Pta Church celebrated its 8th Anniversary. All the BROLM Churches got together to celebrate at this opportunity; 4 were baptized and Jose was ordained.

Baptism. This was the first time in 25 years that I (Jeff) baptized only women. God has given me the privilege to baptize over 400 people into Christ; my ministry has always been aimed at reaching the man so the whole family will come to Christ, there always has been a man being baptized when I baptized people. However, Bia is the daughter of a couple (Adriano & Cris) from CLP (Campo Limpo Pta), Babiih is the girlfriend of Renato (drummer at Pirituba), Katia is the wife of Felipe; I baptized him, his grandfather, his uncle & aunt, his mother and 2 brothers in 2006 in CLP and Jenifer is the wife of Tiago (Felipe’s best friend) that I baptized in 2007 in CLP. Therefore, all 4 that were baptized are connected to a male that it is already a member of one of the churches.

25 Years Serving Together. Jeff and Monica are celebrating 25 years of serving the Lord together this month. They started working together before even dating in 1988 as an Evangelistic Team that traveled throughout Brazil. Monica played the piano and Jeff took care of the sound, they both sang and Jeff preached.

Monica’s Health. On Feb 4th, Monica returned to the surgeon and he said that she is healing well and that the possibility of her needing another surgery is down to 30%. Praise the Lord! Monica will be back to see the surgeon on April 8th, and he said that if she continues to heal he believes that then he will be able to affirm that she does not need more surgery. Please, continue to pray for complete healing in the name of Jesus. Thanks for your prayers!

A Word from Mozambique:

"The hope of the righteous brings joy." Proverbs 10:28

Friends and prayer partners,

The hope of the kingdom of God, present and future, rises as a big challenge ahead of us; as a church, we work to achieve reaching the least-evangelized peoples and unreached.
As servants, we understand that when we engage in mission, we are sharing the mission of a missionary God, which is the beauty of the incarnation in Christ Jesus, who, being God by nature, emptied himself, humbled himself and voluntarily lived among us. The Holy Spirit calls us to serve one another by the passion we have for the gospel.
Here in Mozambique, we thank God for everything that is happening in our country, because we have seen the hand of the Mighty Lord sustaining us for the work to which He has called us.

Hope Home. On January 12, we married two young people who live in the Hope Mission. Anthony and Rabia; it was a moment of joy for all of us. Please pray for this couple because they are being used to help in the work of the Mission.

Hope School. On January 19, we met with all parents and the school year resumed on January 21. Many parents are still seeking to enroll their children at the Hope School, but now we cannot accommodate any more children. Please pray that the Lord will continue to use the school as a means of evangelization of children.

Church Planting. We ask you to pray for our national workers, that the Lord strengthen them and their families at the villages where they are announcing the message of salvation.
As a church, we have the task of being intercessors for the unreached ethnic groups. We praise God for your prayers!

Thanks for all the support you have given us! May the Lord repay in blessings on your lives!
In Christ's love,

Kléber and Juracema Ribeiro
